For those of you who would prefer a more natural and cheaper alternative to over the counter medicines, I have compiled a small list of cures which I have researched. I have used some of them myself - with good results.

Arthritis: Two 5ml teaspoons of cod liver oil mixed with four 5 ml teaspoons of orange juice taken daily until cured. Consumed this way, the orange juice gets the cod liver oil to the joints.

Alzehimer Prevention, also thought to be helpful with dyslexia and autism, Omega 3 as found in oily fish, is believed to stimulate the production of ceratonin in the brain which helps to join links in the brain, aiding the creative thought process. Studies have shown Eskimos and people who live in Japan and other places where a lot of fish is consumed, suffer much less from these conditions.

Depression/Panic Attacks, Stress
Books & tapes by Australian author, Dr. Claire Weekes, the most popular being “Self Help for Your Nerves”. These teach people to face and accept their symptoms of stress while initially continuing any previously diagnosed medication; this treatment should work for anyone who makes a whole-hearted attempt and perseveres. However, be sure to consult your doctor before ending any prescribed medication.

Headlice. Apply olive oil to the head and scalp, ideally every 3 days, at least once a week. It should be left in for a minimum of 6 hours. Hair should be fine combed as often as possible, preferably daily and especially after treating with the oil. Four or five treatments in total should be adequate to achieve a lice-free head of hair!

I sincerely hope the above cures will be of help to some readers. I would love to receive your tried and tested cures, which you feel would benefit others. We would be delighted to publish them in future editions. Email: This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it
