New Paper for The Planet
Local Planet No 14 will be the first printed on 100% recycled paper. Over the lifetime of the Planet to date, various papers have been used, all from sustainably managed forests; but now we have decided to 100% recycled stock.
For the past two years or so, the Local Planet has been printed with vegetable based inks and rainwater, with printing plates produced using a chemical-free system.
The move to recycled stock is something that has been debated on many occasions in the past but has not been done for a several reasons, as discussed in a previous edition of the LP. When I get a chance, I will locate that article and place a link to it here. |

The Evolution of the 'Planet'!
Your 'Local Planet' continues to change. The LP is now in its fifth year and since the very first issue we have been covering the subject of energy; many contributors have outlined the major challenges faced, not just by this country, but by the world as a whole in producing energy in a sustainable planet-friendly way.
As this is now becoming such a serious problem, we have decided to publish a supplement, The Irish Energy Times, in Local Planet No 14. This will we developed into a journal in its own right. If you would like to find out more, please see this website. |
